Janice woke to the warmth of streaming sunlight through her bedroom window. It was still early but she could hear the sounds of birds and feel the freshness of the morning air. Throwing back the blanket, she stretched out across the bed and enjoyed the feeling of being able to wake up slowly on a Sunday morning.

She didn't dream often - at least not that she could remember - but last night, Janice had an incredibly realistic dream about her first love. She and Tony had not been together for several years now but her dream had been filled with the kind of passion they had always shared. They had made love over and over, drinking each other in and becoming totally consumed by their need for one another. That was the way it had always been with Tony. Their relationship had been like a fire that burned bright and hot and then was suddenly snuffed out.

Janice was admittedly very lonely. When Tony had abruptly announced that he wanted out of the relationship and was moving away, she had been left feeling totally lifeless. It was hard for her to even consider dating another man because she had been devastated by Tony. Her self-confidence was at an all-time low. However, laying there stretched out on the bed, her body let her know, in no uncertain terms, that it was about time she found a new partner.

Several of Janice's friends had been suggesting lately that she look into some dating sites. She always refused to be set up on blind dates and didn't want to date relatives of anyone that she considered a friend. Dating sites seemed like an interesting way for her to be able to screen different types of men and to begin to understand what it was that she wanted and needed in her life now.

Grabbing her laptop off the nightstand, Janice rolled over onto her stomach on the bed and started it up. She decided she'd very casually have a look around at some dating sites, just to see what they were all about. She wasn't sure that the whole idea of meeting someone on the internet appealed to her but she did know that it was becoming more and more socially acceptable. Much like meeting someone in the grocery store used to be!

Typing "dating sites" into her browser and doing a search, Janice was stunned at the number and variety of hits she received. She knew there were a lot of those sites but they seemed to cater to every age and interest she could imagine. "Well," she thought to herself, "I've got nothing more pressing to do this early on a Sunday morning!" and set about doing some reading. Maybe this really did stand the potential to help her have some intimacy back in her life.
